They say that Thursday is the new Friday, and sometimes you do just get that itch to spice up your Thursday night a little. The weekend is within touching distance, and Cape Town’s best restaurants are calling your name.
So if you’re looking to head out for a nice meal and some drinks this Thursday night, why not check out some of the city’s best Thursday food specials? That way, you get to eat, drink, and be merry for less!
I’ve rounded up the top 5 Thursday food specials in Cape Town, and I’ll be updating this blog monthly to ensure that the list stays current. Bon appetit!
Also, just as a disclaimer, not that many places in Cape Town have specific Thursday food specials. So yes, you can certainly take advantage of them this Thursday, but they’re also available on other days of the week.
1) Cocktails and Sushi at Restaurant Boujee
Restaurant Boujee is a Japanese-style lounge and bar in the chic enclave of Dewaterkant, which is one of my favorite parts of the city!
On weekdays here, you can get their signature sushi for R100 from 3 pm until 6 pm, which is perfect if you want an early dinner.
You can also buy one get one free on their classic cocktails.

2) Date Night at The Shed
I think that the Shed has the best pizza in Cape Town, so I highly recommend taking advantage of their Thursday food special. You get two margherita pizzas and a 12 piece sushi platter to share for just R249!
Okay, so I will admit, sushi and pizza is a somewhat bizarre combo, but I like both, so I’m not complaining.
And what’s even better is that you can bring your own booze to The Shed to save even more money. You don’t even have to pay corkage, so being able to bring your own wine really drives down the cost of your meal.

3) R89 Burger and Chips at Yumcious
Yumcious is one of my favorite places to eat in De Waterkant. They do lots of amazing salads at lunch and even have a harvest table buffet, but for the purpose of this blog post, I’ll be focusing on their weekday burger special.
For R89 you can get a beef, chicken, or veggie burger with chips for R89, which is not bad! It’s a nice treat for a weekday lunch and a nice way to get your weekend started a little early on a Thursday.

4) Chicken Schnitzels at Copper Club
The Copper Club at Tyger Waterfront is further out of the city center than I generally tend to venture, but if you’re located Bellville way then it’s definitely worth checking out the midweek deals here!
On Thursday, you can get a single chicken schnitzel for R90 or a double for R120. Capetonians loooove their schnitzels – I can’t believe how popular they are here. So if you do too, then get yourself down to the Copper Club and take advantage of this deal.
